Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter softened (1 stick)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar packed
  • 11/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 large apple peeled cored and chopped into small pieces
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 3/4 cups confectioners’ sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons water

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the vanilla extract, eggs, and milk to the butter mixture and mix until combined.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined.
  6. In a separate bowl, combine the brown sugar, ground cinnamon, and chopped apples.
  7. Fold the apple mixture into the bread batter.
  8. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
  9. In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar and ground cinnamon for the topping, then sprinkle it over the batter.
  10. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  11. Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
  12. For the glaze, whisk together confectioners’ sugar, ground cinnamon, and water until smooth, then drizzle over the cooled bread.
