This Crispy Hot Honey Feta Chicken combines the spicy kick of hot sauce and chili flakes with the sweetness of honey, creating a delectable dish that’s savory and satisfying.

- 1/3 cup / 110g Honey
- 1 1/2 tsp Hot Sauce (I like Frank’s or Cholula)
- 3/4 tsp Chilli Flakes
- 2x 250g/9oz Chicken Breasts
- 2 tsp Paprika
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1/2 tsp EACH: Onion Powder
- Garlic Powder
- Dried Oregano
- Black Pepper
- 1/4 tsp Cayenne Pepper
- 35g / 1/4 cup Plain Flour
- 2 Eggs
- beaten
- 65g / 1 cup Panko Breadcrumbs
- Veg Oil
- as needed (6-8 tbsp)
- 200g / 7oz Feta
- crumbled
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F).
- In a medium bowl, mix together honey, hot sauce, and chili flakes. Set aside.
- In a separate bowl, combine the spices: paprika, salt, onion powder, garlic powder, oregano, black pepper, and cayenne pepper.
- Coat each chicken breast in the spice mix, then dip in flour, followed by beaten eggs, and finally coat in panko breadcrumbs.
- In a large skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium heat. Fry the breaded chicken breasts until golden brown on both sides, about 5-7 minutes per side.
- Transfer the fried chicken to a baking dish, drizzle with the honey mixture, and sprinkle crumbled feta on top.
- Bake in the oven for 15-20 minutes until the chicken is cooked through and the feta is melted.
- Serve hot, garnished with additional chili flakes if desired.
Notes
Feel free to adjust the heat by adding more or less hot sauce or chili flakes. This dish pairs well with a fresh salad or roasted vegetables.
