- 1 tablespoon white granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons dried yeast instant or rapid rise
- 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
- 1 1/2 cups warm water
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the bread flour, sugar, yeast, and salt.
- Stir in the warm water and olive oil until a shaggy dough forms.
- Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let it rest at room temperature for 12 to 18 hours.
- Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C) and place a Dutch oven inside to heat up.
- Once the dough has risen, turn it out onto a floured surface and shape it into a ball.
- Carefully remove the Dutch oven, place the dough inside, and cover it with the lid.
- Bake for 30 minutes, then remove the lid and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until golden brown.
- Let the bread cool on a wire rack before slicing.
Notes
For an extra crispy crust, place a small pan of water in the oven while baking to create steam.
