  • ⅓ cup ketchup
  • ¼ cup bourbon
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • ½ teaspoon ground ginger
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes

Instructions

  1. Begin by cutting the chicken breasts into bite-sized pieces and tossing them in cornstarch, salt, and pepper until well-coated.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken pieces and cook until golden brown, about 5-7 minutes. Remove chicken from the skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Mix together chicken broth, soy sauce, apple juice, ketchup, bourbon, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, ground ginger, onion powder, and crushed red pepper flakes in a bowl.
