These Easy Cauldron Cookies are a fun and spooky treat perfect for Halloween. Made with chocolate cookie cups, topped with vibrant green buttercream, and decorated with festive Halloween sprinkles, they are sure to delight kids and adults alike.

- 1 (15.25 ounce) box Devil’s Food cake mix
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup canola or vegetable oil
- black food coloring optional
- 1 cup unsalted butter softened
- 3 cups powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1–3 tablespoons milk
- green food coloring
- round green sprinkles
- Halloween sprinkles
- candy eyeballs
- pretzel sticks
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a mini muffin tin.
- In a large bowl, combine the Devil’s Food cake mix, eggs, and oil. Mix until well combined. If desired, add black food coloring to enhance the chocolate color.
- Scoop the cookie dough into the prepared mini muffin tin and bake for 10-12 minutes. Remove from the oven and let cool completely.
- While the cookies cool, prepare the green buttercream by beating the softened butter until creamy, then gradually add powdered sugar, vanilla extract, salt, and milk to reach desired consistency. Mix in green food coloring.
- Once the cookies are cool, pipe or spread the green buttercream on top of each cookie cup.
- Decorate with round green sprinkles, Halloween sprinkles, candy eyeballs, and pretzel sticks. Serve and enjoy!
Notes
For best results, ensure cookies are completely cool before frosting. Adjust the consistency of the buttercream with milk as needed.
