- 3 large eggs
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1 cup water
- 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
- 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2–3 tablespoons milk
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup mini Reese’s cups
- chopped
- Optional: melted peanut butter or chocolate syrup
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix, eggs, vegetable oil, and water. Mix until well combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Once baked, remove the cake from the oven and let it cool for about 10 minutes.
- Poke holes all over the top of the cake using a fork.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the sweetened condensed milk, creamy peanut butter, and vanilla extract until smooth. Pour this mixture over the poked cake, ensuring it seeps into the holes.
- In another bowl, beat together the creamy peanut butter, softened butter, powdered sugar, and milk until creamy. Spread this mixture over the cake.
- To make the chocolate ganache, heat the heavy cream in a saucepan until it begins to simmer, then pour it over the chocolate chips in a bowl. Let it sit for 3-5 minutes, then stir until smooth.
- Pour the chocolate ganache over the peanut butter layer, spreading it evenly.
- Top with chopped mini Reese’s cups and add a drizzle of melted peanut butter or chocolate syrup if desired.
- Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving to let the flavors meld.
