- 1 pound flank steak or sirloin steak
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder

- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon chili flakes
- 1 large onion
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1 green bell pepper
- 4 sandwich rolls
- 4 slices provolone or cheddar cheese
- 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- Fresh arugula or lettuce
Instructions
- Marinate the steak with 1 tablespoon olive oil, garlic powder, smoked paprika, black pepper, salt, Worcestershire sauce, and chili flakes for at least 30 minutes.
- Heat the remaining olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat, add the marinated steak, and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium doneness. Remove and let it rest.
- In the same skillet, add the sliced onion, green bell pepper, and minced garlic. Sauté until the vegetables are soft and slightly caramelized.
- Slice the rested steak thinly against the grain.
- To assemble the sandwich, spread mayonnaise and Dijon mustard on the sandwich rolls, layer with steak slices, sautéed veggies, cheese, and garnish with arugula or lettuce.
