Description

Experience the delightful blend of sweetness and warmth with our Favorite Fig Bread Recipe, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • Figs
  • All-purpose flour or a combination of whole wheat flour and all-purpose flour
  • Granulated sugar or a combination of granulated sugar and brown sugar
  • Ground cardamom
  • Cinnamon powder
  • Ground cloves
  • Freshly ground nutmeg
  • Walnuts or pecans

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, and spices.
  3. If using fresh or frozen figs, chop them. If using dried figs, rehydrate them and chop. Add the figs and nuts to the dry mixture.
  4. Mix the wet and dry ingredients until just combined.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
  6. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For added flavor, try adding orange zest or a teaspoon of vanilla extract. If using fig jam or preserves, reduce the sugar accordingly.
