- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- ¾ cup white sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
- ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ¾ cup milk
- 2 large eggs

- 1 tablespoon butter or shortening
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup confectioners’ sugar
- 2 tablespoons hot water
- ½ teaspoon almond extract
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a donut pan.
- In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, baking powder, nutmeg, cinnamon, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, melted butter or shortening, and vanilla extract.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
- Spoon the batter into the prepared donut pan, filling each mold about ¾ full.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
- For the glaze, whisk together the confectioners’ sugar, hot water, and almond extract until smooth. Dip the tops of the cooled donuts into the glaze.
