- 4 cups cherries
- pitted (~2 lbs)
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup water
- 3 tsp. lime juice
- freshly squeezed
- 1/2 tsp. kosher salt
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, combine the sugar and water. Heat over medium until the sugar dissolves completely, creating a simple syrup.
- Remove from heat and let the syrup cool. Once cooled, add the pitted cherries, lime juice, and kosher salt. Blend until smooth.
- Pour the cherry mixture into a shallow pan and freeze for about 2 hours, stirring every 30 minutes to break up ice crystals.
- Once fully frozen, scoop the sorbet into bowls and enjoy!
Notes
For an extra touch, garnish with fresh mint or a sprinkle of lime zest before serving.
