Description
This Habanero Pepper Jam is a sweet and spicy condiment that adds a kick to your dishes. Perfect for cheese platters or as a glaze for meats.
Ingredients

- 1/2 pound habanero peppers chopped (cored/innards removed if desired for less heat)
- 4 cups granulated sugar
- 1 1/4 cups cider vinegar
- 1/4 cup lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 3 ounces liquid fruit pectin
- 4 drops food coloring if preferred
Instructions
- In a large pot, combine the chopped habanero peppers, granulated sugar, cider vinegar, lemon juice, and salt.
- Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, stirring frequently.
- After the mixture reaches a rolling boil, stir in the liquid fruit pectin.
- Boil for an additional minute, then remove from heat and stir in food coloring if desired.
- Pour the jam into sterilized jars, seal, and let cool.
Notes
For a less spicy jam, remove the innards of the habanero peppers before chopping. Adjust the amount of sugar based on your sweetness preference.
