Description

This Habanero Pepper Jam is a sweet and spicy condiment that adds a kick to your dishes. Perfect for cheese platters or as a glaze for meats.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 pound habanero peppers chopped (cored/innards removed if desired for less heat)
  • 4 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 1/4 cups cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 ounces liquid fruit pectin
  • 4 drops food coloring if preferred

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, combine the chopped habanero peppers, granulated sugar, cider vinegar, lemon juice, and salt.
  2. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, stirring frequently.
  3. After the mixture reaches a rolling boil, stir in the liquid fruit pectin.
  4. Boil for an additional minute, then remove from heat and stir in food coloring if desired.
  5. Pour the jam into sterilized jars, seal, and let cool.

Notes

For a less spicy jam, remove the innards of the habanero peppers before chopping. Adjust the amount of sugar based on your sweetness preference.
