Description
These insanely good pear crumble bars combine a buttery crust with a sweet and spiced pear filling, topped with a delightful crumble for the perfect dessert.
Ingredients

- 1 stick + 3 tbsp salted butter
- 2/3 cup brown sugar
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp nutmeg
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 3 medium pears
- 4 tsp heavy cream
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 tbsp granulated sugar
- 2 tbsp salted butter
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×9 inch baking pan.
- In a bowl, melt 1 stick + 3 tbsp of butter and mix it with 2/3 cup of brown sugar until combined.
- Add 2 cups of flour, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt, and mix until crumbly.
- Press half of the mixture into the bottom of the greased pan to form the crust.
- In another bowl, toss the thinly sliced pears with 4 tsp of heavy cream, 1/4 cup of brown sugar, and 1 tbsp of granulated sugar.
- Spread the pear mixture evenly over the crust in the baking pan.
- Dot the filling with 2 tbsp of salted butter and top with the remaining crumble mixture.
- Bake for 30 minutes or until the topping is golden brown.
- Let cool slightly before slicing into bars to serve.
Notes
For a different flavor, try adding a pinch of vanilla extract to the pear filling.
