Delicious jam donuts filled with your favorite strawberry jam, perfect as a sweet treat or dessert.

For the dough:
- 500 g strong white bread flour
- 7 g fast action dried yeast
- 1 tsp salt
- 60 g caster sugar
- 100 g unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 280 ml whole milk
For frying:
- 2 litres vegetable oil
For filling & coating:
- 350 g strawberry jam (or any jam of choice)
- 75 g caster sugar
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix flour, yeast, salt, and sugar.
- In another bowl, whisk eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and melted butter.
- Combine wet and dry ingredients to form a soft dough.
- Knead for 8β10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Cover and let rise for 1β2 hours until doubled in size.
- Roll out dough (about 1β2 cm thick) and cut into circles.
- Place on a tray, cover, and let rise again for 30β45 minutes.
- Heat oil to 170β180Β°C.
- Fry donuts in batches for 1β2 minutes per side until golden brown.
- Remove and drain on paper towels.
- Roll warm donuts in sugar.
- Fill with jam using a piping bag.
Notes
- Donβt overfill the donuts to avoid leaks.
- Maintain steady oil temperature for even frying.
- You can use raspberry, blueberry, or even homemade jam for variety.
- Best enjoyed fresh, but can be reheated slightly before serving.
