- 5 to 6 pounds pears
- cored and sliced; 7 cups pear slices
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- ¼ cup maple syrup
- 3 teaspoons cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup finely chopped pecans
- 1⅓ cups all-purpose flour
- ⅔ cup brown sugar
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
- ¼ teaspoon ground cardamom
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 8 tablespoons butter
- melted
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, combine the sliced pears with lemon juice, maple syrup, cornstarch, granulated sugar, ground cinnamon, and salt. Gently toss to coat the pears evenly.
- Transfer the pear mixture into a greased baking dish.
- For the topping, mix together the chopped pecans, flour, brown sugar, ground cinnamon, nutmeg, cardamom, and salt in a separate bowl.
- Drizzle the melted butter over the topping mixture and stir until crumbly.
- Spread the topping evenly over the pears in the baking dish.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the pears are bubbly.
