Ingredients

  • cored and sliced; 7 cups pear slices
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • ¼ cup maple syrup
  • 3 teaspoons cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup finely chopped pecans
  • 1⅓ cups all-purpose flour
  • ⅔ cup brown sugar
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cardamom
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 8 tablespoons butter
  • melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the sliced pears with lemon juice, maple syrup, cornstarch, granulated sugar, ground cinnamon, and salt. Gently toss to coat the pears evenly.
  3. Transfer the pear mixture into a greased baking dish.
  4. For the topping, mix together the chopped pecans, flour, brown sugar, ground cinnamon, nutmeg, cardamom, and salt in a separate bowl.
  5. Drizzle the melted butter over the topping mixture and stir until crumbly.
  6. Spread the topping evenly over the pears in the baking dish.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the pears are bubbly.
