- 1 teaspoon vegetable oil
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- ¾ teaspoon ground cinnamon

- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ⅛ teaspoon ground cloves
- ¼ cup light brown sugar
- ¾ cup pumpkin puree
- ⅓ cup vegetable oil
- ⅓ cup maple syrup
- ¼ cup buttermilk
- 1 large egg
- ½ cup confectioners’ sugar
- 3 tablespoons maple syrup
- ¼ cup finely chopped roasted pumpkin seeds
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a doughnut pan with vegetable oil.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, allspice, salt, and cloves.
- In another bowl, combine the brown sugar, pumpkin puree, vegetable oil, maple syrup, buttermilk, and egg. Mix until well combined.
- Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
- Spoon the batter into the prepared doughnut pan, filling each cavity about 2/3 full.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow the doughnuts to cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
- For the glaze, whisk together confectioners’ sugar and maple syrup until smooth, then drizzle over the cooled doughnuts.
- Sprinkle the chopped roasted pumpkin seeds on top of the glaze before it sets.
Notes
For an extra touch, you can add a pinch of nutmeg to the glaze or substitute the maple syrup with honey for a different flavor.
