Description

These Meatball Sliders combine tender meatballs made with lean ground beef and flavorful pesto, all nestled in soft Hawaiian rolls and topped with gooey mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.


Ingredients

  • 90% lean ground beef
  • prepared pesto
  • seasoned bread crumbs
  • egg
  • jarred pasta sauce
  • Hawaiian sweet rolls
  • mozzarella cheese
  • Parmesan cheese
  • seasoned butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, pesto, seasoned bread crumbs, and egg. Mix until fully combined.
  3. Form the mixture into meatballs, about 1 to 1.5 inches in diameter.
  4. Place the meatballs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until cooked through.
  5. While the meatballs are baking, prepare the Hawaiian rolls by slicing them in half horizontally.
  6. In a saucepan, heat the pasta sauce until warm. Once the meatballs are done, add them to the sauce to coat.
  7. Place a few meatballs on the bottom halves of the rolls, top with mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
  8. Brush the tops of the rolls with seasoned butter, then place the top halves on.
  9. Bake the sliders for another 5-10 minutes, until the cheese is melted and the rolls are golden brown.

Notes

Feel free to freeze leftover meatballs for future use. You can also customize the cheese type based on your preference.
