Deliciously classic Old Fashioned Stuffed Bell Peppers filled with a savory mixture of ground beef, rice, and tomato sauce, perfect for a hearty meal.

- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 large onion
- chopped
- 1 (28 ounce) can tomato sauce
- divided
- 1 1⁄4 cups water
- divided
- 1 (1 ounce) envelope garlic & herb salad dressing mix
- 1 cup white minute rice
- uncooked
- 4 large green peppers
- halved
- ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a skillet, cook the ground beef and onion over medium heat until the meat is browned; drain.
- Stir in 1 cup of tomato sauce, 1 cup of water, salad dressing mix, rice, garlic powder, salt and pepper. Bring to a boil and then reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 20 minutes.
- While the filling is cooking, prepare the green peppers by cutting them in half lengthwise and removing seeds.
- Fill each pepper half with the beef and rice mixture and place in a baking dish.
- Pour the remaining tomato sauce and water over the stuffed peppers.
- Cover with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes until peppers are tender.

Feel free to customize the stuffing with your favorite seasonings or add cheese on top for an extra layer of flavor.
