Description
Panna Cotta is a silky, creamy dessert that’s incredibly easy to prepare without the need for baking. This traditional Italian treat is perfect for impressing guests or enjoying a sweet indulgence on your own.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons unflavored gelatin
- 3 tablespoons cold water
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- In a small bowl, sprinkle the gelatin over the cold water and let it bloom for about 5 minutes.
- In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the heavy cream, milk, sugar, salt, and vanilla extract. Stir until the sugar dissolves and the mixture is hot but not boiling.
- Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the bloomed gelatin until fully dissolved.
- Pour the mixture into serving cups or molds and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or until set.
- To serve, gently unmold by dipping the cups in warm water for a few seconds, then invert onto plates. Enjoy your silky, creamy Panna Cotta!
Notes
For added flavor, you can infuse the cream with citrus zest or herbs before mixing in the gelatin. Serve with fresh berries or a berry coulis for a delightful contrast.
