- 2 cups warm water about 100 degrees
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 3 tablespoons olive oil plus additional for greasing the pan
- 1/4 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese plus additional for sprinkling on top
- 1 sprig fresh rosemary leaves removed from the stem and roughly chopped
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the warm water and yeast; let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
- Add the olive oil, salt, and flour to the yeast mixture, stirring until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Preheat your oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C).
- Punch down the risen dough and spread it onto a greased baking sheet, dimpling the surface with your fingers.
- Sprinkle the chopped rosemary and parmesan cheese evenly over the top.
- Let the dough rise again for about 20 minutes.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.
- Allow to cool slightly before slicing and serving.
Notes
For extra flavor, drizzle with more olive oil before baking, and adjust the amount of rosemary and parmesan according to your preference.
