Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 firm pears of any variety cored
  • peeled and thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup of unsalted butter melted
  • 3 eggs
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup all purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • Powdered sugar for garnish
  • Cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly spray a pie dish with cooking spray.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter with the eggs, milk, and vanilla extract, whisking until well blended.
  3. Add the granulated sugar, flour, and kosher salt to the mixture, continuing to whisk until smooth.
  4. Arrange the sliced pears evenly in the prepared pie dish, then pour the custard mixture over the pears.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes or until the custard is set and lightly golden on top.
  6. Remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly before dusting with powdered sugar for serving.

Notes

For added flavor, consider sprinkling cinnamon or nutmeg over the pears before pouring the custard. Serve warm or at room temperature for the best taste.
