This Potato-Zucchini Gratin is a deliciously creamy and cheesy dish that’s perfect as a side or a light main course.

- 500g potatoes
- 300g zucchini
- 200ml cream
- 150g grated cheese (Gruyère or Cheddar)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Nutmeg (optional)
- 1–2 cloves of garlic (optional)
- Butter for greasing
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease a baking dish with butter.
- Slice the potatoes and zucchini thinly.
- Layer the sliced potatoes and zucchini in the baking dish, sprinkling salt, pepper, and nutmeg (if using) between the layers.
- Mince the garlic and mix it with the cream, then pour the mixture evenly over the layered vegetables.
- Sprinkle the grated cheese on top of the gratin.
- Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes, then remove the foil and bake for an additional 5 minutes or until the top is golden and bubbly.
Notes
For best results, let the gratin rest for a few minutes before serving to allow it to set.
