Description

This Potato-Zucchini Gratin is a deliciously creamy and cheesy dish that’s perfect as a side or a light main course.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 500g potatoes
  • 300g zucchini
  • 200ml cream
  • 150g grated cheese (Gruyère or Cheddar)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Nutmeg (optional)
  • 12 cloves of garlic (optional)
  • Butter for greasing

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease a baking dish with butter.
  2. Slice the potatoes and zucchini thinly.
  3. Layer the sliced potatoes and zucchini in the baking dish, sprinkling salt, pepper, and nutmeg (if using) between the layers.
  4. Mince the garlic and mix it with the cream, then pour the mixture evenly over the layered vegetables.
  5. Sprinkle the grated cheese on top of the gratin.
  6. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes, then remove the foil and bake for an additional 5 minutes or until the top is golden and bubbly.

Notes

For best results, let the gratin rest for a few minutes before serving to allow it to set.
