Description

Ingredients

  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 3/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground ginger
  • 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/8 tsp ground cloves
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup (100g) granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup (110g) packed light-brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) vegetable oil
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup (240g) canned pumpkin puree
  • 1 1/2 cups (255g) semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, cloves, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, mix the granulated sugar, brown sugar, vegetable oil, egg, vanilla extract, and pumpkin puree until well combined.
  4. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  5. Gently stir in the semi-sweet chocolate chips.
  6. Drop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. Let them cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For an extra flavor twist, consider adding chopped nuts or swapping chocolate chips for white chocolate or butterscotch chips.
