- 3/4 tsp baking soda
- 1 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp ground ginger
- 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1/8 tsp ground cloves
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup (100g) granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup (110g) packed light-brown sugar
- 1/2 cup (120ml) vegetable oil
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup (240g) canned pumpkin puree
- 1 1/2 cups (255g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, cloves, and salt.
- In another bowl, mix the granulated sugar, brown sugar, vegetable oil, egg, vanilla extract, and pumpkin puree until well combined.
- Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
- Gently stir in the semi-sweet chocolate chips.
- Drop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. Let them cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For an extra flavor twist, consider adding chopped nuts or swapping chocolate chips for white chocolate or butterscotch chips.
