Description

Deliciously spiced Pumpkin Cream Cheese Bread swirled with a rich cream cheese filling, perfect for fall baking or any time of year.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup pumpkin puree
  • not pumpkin pie filling
  • 1 large egg
  • 3/4 cup light brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup oil
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tablespoon pumpkin pie spice
  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 large egg
  • 4 ounces cream cheese
  • softened
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 tablespoons all purpose flour

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the pumpkin puree, egg, brown sugar, oil, sour cream, vanilla extract, and pumpkin pie spice until well mixed.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  5. In another bowl, beat together the cream cheese, egg, granulated sugar, and flour until smooth to create the cream cheese filling.
  6. Pour half of the pumpkin batter into the prepared loaf pan, followed by the cream cheese filling, and then the remaining pumpkin batter on top.
  7. Swirl the batter lightly with a knife to create a marbled effect.
  8. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  9. Allow to cool for a few minutes in the pan before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For an extra touch, sprinkle some cinnamon sugar on top before baking. Store any leftovers in an airtight container.
