Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine warm water, white sugar, and dry yeast. Let it sit for about 10 minutes until frothy.
- Add salt and softened butter to the yeast mixture, then gradually stir in the flour until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Punch down the risen dough and shape it into a loaf. Place the loaf on a baking sheet.
- Optionally brush the top with egg white for a glossy finish. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
- Allow the bread to cool before slicing and serving.
