Ingredients

Scale
  • Cooking spray
  • for pan
  • 1 box Devil’s Food Cake
  • 1 package chocolate pudding
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 10 Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups
  • halved
  • for topping
  • 1/2 cup Reese’s pieces
  • for topping
  • 2 cups unsalted butter
  • 8 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 1/4 cups creamy peanut butter
  • 7 Tbsp. whole milk
  • pinch of kosher salt
  • 3/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1 1/2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F and prepare a cake pan by spraying it with cooking spray.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the Devil’s Food Cake mix, chocolate pudding mix, sour cream, eggs, and water. Mix until smooth.
  3. Pour the cake batter into the prepared pan and bake for 30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  4. While the cake is baking, prepare the peanut butter frosting by creaming together the unsalted butter and peanut butter until fluffy. Gradually add in the powdered sugar and whole milk, mixing until smooth. Add a pinch of kosher salt.
  5. Once the cake is done, allow it to cool completely before frosting.
  6. For the ganache, heat the heavy cream in a saucepan until it just begins to simmer. Pour it over the semisweet chocolate chips in a bowl and let it sit for a minute before stirring until smooth.
  7. Once the cake has cooled, spread a layer of peanut butter frosting on top, then drizzle the ganache over it.
  8. Top the cake with halved Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups and Reese’s pieces for an extra chocolatey explosion.
  9. Slice and serve to enjoy this delicious treat!

Notes

For an even richer flavor, let the ganache cool slightly before pouring it over the cake. You can also add more Reese’s toppings based on your preference.
