- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ¾ teaspoon table salt
- 2 cups (340 g) semisweet chocolate chips
- Flaky sea salt

Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a medium saucepan, melt the salted butter over medium heat until it turns golden brown and smells nutty. Allow it to cool slightly.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the brown sugar, granulated sugar, eggs, egg yolk, and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Add the browned butter to the sugar mixture and mix until smooth.
- In a separate bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Scoop spoonfuls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart. Sprinkle with flaky sea salt if desired.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden brown, and let them cool on the sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
For the best texture, do not overmix the cookie dough once you add the dry ingredients. Adjust the amount of flaky sea salt based on your taste preference.
