- Pane Degli Angeli or Baking Powder
- Butter (softened)
- Greek Yogurt
- Vanilla Extract (if using plain baking powder)
- Orange Juice (for glaze)
- Sugar (for glaze)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a round cake pan.
- In a food processor, blend the whole orange until smooth. Add eggs and sugar, then blend until well combined.
- In a mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour and baking powder. Gradually add this to the orange mixture, mixing until just combined.
- Fold in softened butter and Greek yogurt until the batter is smooth. If using, add vanilla extract at this stage.
- Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- While the cake is cooling, prepare the glaze by combining orange juice and sugar in a small saucepan. Heat until the sugar dissolves and the mixture thickens slightly.
- Drizzle the glaze over the cooled cake before serving.
