Ingredients

1 cup butter

softened

½ cup brown sugar

1 egg

¾ cup molasses

3 cups all-purpose flour

2 teaspoons baking soda

½ teaspoon ground cinnamon

1 teaspoon ground ginger


Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and brown sugar until smooth.
  • Beat in the egg and molasses until well combined.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and ginger.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  • Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased baking sheets.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until edges are set but centers are soft.
  • Allow to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
