  • 80 grams water
  • 100 grams plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 350 grams all-purpose flour
  • 40 grams butter melted
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 50 grams butter softened
  • 4 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 3 teaspoons cinnamon powder
  • confectioner’s sugar
  • cream cheese frosting

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the sourdough starter, water, Greek yogurt, egg, and sugar. Mix well until smooth.
  2. Add the all-purpose flour, melted butter, and salt to the mixture and knead until a soft dough forms.
  3. Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place for about 1-2 hours or until doubled in size.
  4. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  5. In a separate bowl, mix the softened butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon powder to create the filling.
  6. Roll out the risen dough on a floured surface into a rectangle. Spread the filling evenly over the dough.
  7. Roll the dough tightly from one end to the other to form a log. Slice the log into equal pieces.
  8. Twist each slice and place them in a greased baking dish.
  9. Let the twisted slices rise for another 30 minutes before baking.
  10. Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
  11. Allow to cool slightly before serving, drizzle with cream cheese frosting and sprinkle with confectioner’s sugar.
