Ingredients

Scale

6 cups fresh or frozen blueberries (about 900 g)

¾ cup granulated sugar (150 g)

2 tablespoons cornstarch

1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

1 teaspoon lemon zest

1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

½ teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)

pinch of salt

1 cup all-purpose flour (125 g)

1 cup granulated sugar (200 g)

1 teaspoon baking powder

¼ teaspoon salt

1 cup whole milk (240 ml)

½ cup unsalted butter (115 g)

melted

¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg (optional)

Vanilla ice cream or whipped cream (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a large bowl, mix the blueberries, ¾ cup sugar, cornstarch, lemon juice, lemon zest, vanilla extract, cinnamon (if using), and a pinch of salt. Pour the mixture into a greased baking dish.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the flour, 1 cup sugar, baking powder, and salt. Stir in the milk and melted butter until just combined.
  • Pour the cobbler batter over the blueberry filling, spreading it evenly.
  • Sprinkle with nutmeg if desired.
  • Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the topping is golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Let cool slightly before serving. Garnish with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream if desired.

Notes

Feel free to use frozen blueberries; just ensure they are well-drained to avoid excess liquid in the filling.
