Ingredients

  • 1 cup (125 grams) flour
  • 3/4 cup (86 grams) Dutch-process cocoa powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup + 2 tablespoons (196 grams) refined coconut oil or butter
  • melted and cooled slightly
  • 1 1/2 cups (300 grams) granulated sugar or coconut sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup (170 grams) semi-sweet chocolate chips or chopped chocolate
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) heavy cream or whipping cream or full-fat canned coconut milk
  • 1/2 cup (85 grams) white chocolate chips or chopped white chocolate

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix the melted coconut oil (or butter) with sugar, vanilla extract, and eggs until well combined.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and stir until just combined.
  5. Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan and smooth the top.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  7. Let the brownies cool in the pan.
  8. In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream (or coconut milk) until just simmering, then remove from heat and add the semi-sweet chocolate, stirring until melted.
  9. Drizzle the melted chocolate mixture over the cooled brownies.
  10. Melt the white chocolate and drizzle it over the brownies in a spiderweb pattern.

Notes

For a dairy-free option, use coconut oil and full-fat canned coconut milk.
