- 14 ounces ladyfingers
- ½ cup orange liqueur divided into (½ cup and ¼ cup)
- 16 ounces mascarpone cheese room temperature
- 16 ounces heavy cream chilled
- ⅓ cup powdered sugar sifted
- 13 ounces vanilla extract
- 32 ounces strawberries hulled and sliced
Instructions
- In a shallow dish, combine ½ cup of the orange liqueur with some water. Dip each ladyfinger into the mixture quickly to prevent sogginess.
- Arrange half of the soaked ladyfingers in a single layer at the bottom of a serving dish.
- In a large bowl, beat the mascarpone cheese until smooth. In another bowl, whip the heavy cream and powdered sugar until soft peaks form. Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone.
- Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers, then layer half of the strawberries on top.
- Repeat the layers with the remaining ladyfingers, mascarpone mixture, and strawberries.
- Drizzle the top layer with the remaining ¼ cup of orange liqueur and chill in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours, or overnight for best results.
- Serve chilled, optionally garnished with additional strawberries and a dusting of powdered sugar.
Notes
For a non-alcoholic version, substitute orange liqueur with orange juice. This dessert is best made a day ahead to allow the flavors to meld.
