Description

These Sugar Coated Baked Donuts are a delightful treat, perfect for breakfast or dessert, combining a soft, fluffy texture with a sweet sugar sprinkle.


Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
  • melted
  • 1/2 cup golden or granulated sugar + 2 tablespoons (for coating donuts)
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a donut pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mix the melted butter and 1/2 cup of sugar together until combined.
  3. Add the milk, egg, and vanilla, whisking until smooth.
  4. In another bowl, combine the flour and baking soda, then gradually add it to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  5. Spoon the batter into the donut pan, filling each cavity about 2/3 full.
  6. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until lightly golden and a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Allow the donuts to cool for a few minutes before removing them from the pan.
  8. In a bowl, combine the remaining 2 tablespoons of sugar and roll each donut in it while still warm.
  9. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

These donuts are best served warm but can be stored in an airtight container for a couple of days. For added flavor, consider adding a sprinkle of cinnamon to the sugar coating.
