This Texas Roadhouse Butter Chicken Skillet is tender, juicy, and packed with flavor. Seared in a cast-iron skillet, then finished in a creamy buttery sauce with Parmesan and seasonings, it’s restaurant-style comfort food made easy at home.
Ingredients
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (6–7 ounces each)
3 tablespoons unsalted butter, divided
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon kosher salt
½ teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
1 teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon dried parsley
½ teaspoon dried thyme
½ cup chicken broth (low sodium)
½ cup heavy cream
¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
2 teaspoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon lemon juice
Optional garnish: fresh parsley or chives, lemon wedges
Instructions
Pat chicken breasts dry, then pound to an even ¾-inch thickness. Season with salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, parsley, and thyme.
Heat a cast-iron skillet over medium-high. Add olive oil and 1 tablespoon butter.
Sear chicken 4–5 minutes per side until golden. Remove and set aside.
Lower heat to medium. Add 1 tablespoon butter. Stir in chicken broth, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, and lemon juice. Scrape up browned bits.
Stir in heavy cream and Parmesan. Simmer 2–3 minutes until slightly thickened.
Return chicken to skillet. Spoon sauce over chicken. Simmer 5 minutes until chicken reaches 165°F (74°C).
Stir in remaining 1 tablespoon butter for a silky finish. Garnish and serve hot.
Notes
Use cast-iron for the best sear and flavor.
Deglaze properly to pull up all the browned bits—they add depth.
Adjust sauce thickness with more broth or cream.
Store leftovers in an airtight container up to 4 days.
