- ¾ cup heavy whipping cream
- ⅓ cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ¾ cup brewed espresso cooled
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
- about 15–18 ladyfingers broken as needed to fit cups
- cocoa powder for dusting
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine softened mascarpone cheese, heavy whipping cream, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract. Whip until smooth and fluffy.
- Prepare the espresso soak by mixing brewed espresso with 1 tablespoon of granulated sugar until dissolved.
- Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the espresso mixture and place them in the bottom of your serving cups.
- Layer half of the mascarpone filling over the soaked ladyfingers in each cup.
- Repeat the process with another layer of dipped ladyfingers followed by the remaining mascarpone filling.
- Chill the cups in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours or until set.
- Before serving, dust the top with cocoa powder for a finishing touch.
Notes
For an authentic Italian flavor, use strong espresso and let the layers set in the refrigerator overnight for better taste and texture.
