- 1 (16 ounce) package spaghetti
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 onion
- chopped
- 1 (32 ounce) jar meatless spaghetti sauce
- ½ teaspoon seasoned salt
- 2 large eggs
- ⅓ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 5 tablespoons butter
- melted
- 2 cups small curd cottage cheese
- 5 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- divided
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cook the spaghetti according to package instructions; drain well.
- In a skillet, brown the ground beef and chopped onion over medium heat until the meat is fully cooked; drain any excess fat.
- Stir in the spaghetti sauce and seasoned salt; simmer for 5 minutes.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, Parmesan cheese, melted butter, cottage cheese, and 3 cups of mozzarella cheese.
- Add the drained spaghetti to the cheese mixture; mix well.
- Spread half of the spaghetti mixture into a greased baking dish. Top with half of the meat sauce, then repeat the layers.
- Sprinkle the remaining 2 cups of mozzarella cheese on top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving.
