Ingredients
- Ripe pears
- Honey
- Ground cinnamon
- Ground ginger
- Unsalted butter
- Mixed salad greens
- Walnuts or pecans
- Goat cheese or feta
- Extra virgin olive oil
- White wine vinegar or apple cider vinegar
- Dijon mustard
- Maple syrup or honey
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper
Instructions
- In a medium skillet, melt the unsalted butter over medium heat. Add the sliced pears, honey, ground cinnamon, and ground ginger, and cook until the pears are tender and caramelized, about 5-7 minutes.
- In a large bowl, combine the mixed salad greens, toasted walnuts or pecans, and crumbled goat cheese or feta.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the extra virgin olive oil, white wine vinegar or apple cider vinegar, Dijon mustard, and maple syrup or additional honey until well combined.
- Toss the salad greens with the dressing, then top with the warm spiced pears. Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste, and serve immediately.
Notes
Feel free to experiment with different nuts or cheeses based on your preference. Toasting the nuts enhances their flavor, so if time allows, do it!
