  • 2 cups buttermilk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • oil for spraying
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon seasoned salt
  • 1 ½ teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the buttermilk, eggs, salt, and black pepper. Add the chicken, ensuring it’s fully submerged. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix the flour, garlic powder, seasoned salt, paprika, onion powder, black pepper, and salt.
  3. Preheat the air fryer to 380°F (193°C).
  4. Remove the chicken from the buttermilk mixture, letting the excess drip off. Dredge each piece in the flour mixture, ensuring an even coating.
  5. Spray the air fryer basket with oil and place the coated chicken pieces in a single layer. Spray the top of the chicken with oil.
  6. Cook in the air fryer for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through until golden brown and cooked to an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
  7. Let the chicken rest for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy your delicious air-fried chicken!

Notes

For extra crispiness, let the coated chicken sit for 10 minutes before air frying. You can also experiment with different seasonings in the flour coating.
